Anushka Sharma is daughter of Kumar Sharma (retd.) and Ashima Sharma. She was born in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on May 1, 1988. Anushka Sharma's father is an old colonel. Her mother is an housewife. Karnesh Sharma is Anushka's older brother. Karnesh was in the Merchant Navy, and is an entrepreneur in the field of film production. Anushka Sharma completed her schooling from Army School, Bangalore and is currently pursuing a the Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka has a doctorate in studies in economics. Anushka had always wanted to become either journalist or model or an actor, but she never thought of it as a profession. Anushka joined Elite Model Management after graduating in the field and received training from Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. Anushka's first time as a model for fashion was in 2017 after she modelled for Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week after which she was selected by Rodricks to appear at his Spring Summer 2007 collection. Anushka has worked on several brands since she made her debut models at Lakme Fashion Week. She's done campaigns with Fiat Palio, Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry, and Fiat Palio. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling career joined an acting school and began giving auditions for film. Anushka sharma began her film career in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She was in the film with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took a day off to get ready for her test on screen and didn't want to make an impractical version. In the following days, she was cast in three films for Yash Raj Films. In one of them, she was the young bride to a middle-aged male (the role Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was seen alongside Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 movie "Badmash Company". It was met with mixed receptions. Anushka was also seen alongside Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat,' where she portrayed a Punjabi middle class woman who set up her own company. It received a favourable review, and was considered a sleeper success. Anushka finished her deal of three films together with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
